Lists of computer experts appear in the general expert witness directories to which all lawyers have access. Inclusion in such directories usually means that the expert has had some instructions and that one or more lawyers have been prepared to vouch for their competence, though for some the only qualification is the ability to pay a fee.

None of the directories can tell you whether an individual expert is the one that is appropriate for your needs.

 

An experienced expert should have no difficulty in providing referees from previous instructions
